Congrats for putting together the information on Indian Core Sectors.

I am from Mumbai. Like everyone else I am very concerned about growing pollution, congestion and transportation problems in my city Mumbai. Are there any concrete plans for having new transportation systems for Mumbai like metro railway, MRTS etc. I mean all these studies that have been  conducted by various groups for example: MSRDC, MMRDA,  RITES, TCS etc. for new transportation systems in Mumbai are for research purposes only or is Mumbai for 100% sure going to have one or two of them, is just which one to choose?

It's just surprising to see that small cities like Thane, Pune, Nagpur etc. in Maharashtra have plans ready for MRTS systems and Mumbai has none. Mumbai does have a wonderful local/suburban railway network but it doesn't benefit the people living in central and south Mumbai that well. I would really appreciate if you could e-mail me information on the following questions. What are the specific details(ex. which stations, distance, how will it help? etc.) of the proposed Bandra-Colaba underground metro railway? What is the current status of this underground metro railway proposal? Are there any plans of having a MRTS in Mumbai same as the one being constructed in Delhi? What was the outcome of the "SMART" study/report carried out by TCS, German company etc. for Maharashtra state government. What where the specific solutions proposed in the "SMART" report/study? What other specific options or proposals have been studied for Mumbai?
