Council of Power Utilities |
Council of Power Utilities (CPU), an
umbrella organization of Power Utilities in India, established
in 1983, aims at formulations of solutions of problem besetting
the power supply industry through interaction between indigenous
utilities and also between utilities of developed and developing
countries. In the wake of liberalization, the Council provides
an excellent forum for all the players in the power and associate
sectors like water resources, water ways etc. to seek solutions
and strive for economically and environmentally sustainable
development strategies.
The
Council has been mainly formed to evolve solutions of the
problems connected with the power sector. The important attribute
of the Council is that it is an Association of Power Utilities,
trying to solve the problems of the Utilities in collaboration
with other players in power development business, namely designers,
consultants, manufacturers, investors, policy makers, environmentalists
etc.
