All innovation of the RES industry under one roof
The third International Trade Fair for Renewable Energy and Energy Effi-ciency RENEXPO® Poland began with the speech delivered by Adam Strózik, Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The event took place in Expocentre EXPO XXI in Warsaw on 16.10.2013. This year over 135 exhibitors, including 40% from abroad, presented their products and services. The conferences and trade forums held at the same time filled to capacity. The culmination of the first day of the trade fair was awarding "RENERGY AWARDS". This year's award winners are: Paweł Lachman, the President of the Polish Organization of Heat Pump Technology Development, and the following companies: SMA Central & Eastern Europe i Glen Dimplex Sp. z o. o.
During the Opening Ceremony of RENEXPO® Poland 2013 Adam Strózik, the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, said: Our economy is still too energy-consuming so we need to seek to diversify energy sources. There is no other direction today than the renewable energy sources. For Poland it is a huge chal-lenge and duty which may simultaneously be the driving factor for the Polish economy and politics targeted at the inhabitants of villages and cities. As a repre-sentative of the region, I can assure you that the production of green energy is a very important area for us and our financial support will focus on it in the future.
The subject of financing systems for energy production from renewable sources was frequently raised during all the events accompanying RENEXPO® Poland. The possibilities for obtaining grants, loans and credits were discussed during the Third Conference on Photovoltaics in Poland, as well as at the Third Conference on Water Energy in Poland, the Second Biogas Forum, Biomass Forum, Heat Pumps Forum, the conference on the practical aspects concerning green energy investments, and the conference on intelligent energy.
The third edition of the Member of a Local Government Day during RENEXPO® Poland turned particularly popular. The event gave local governments members the opportunity to learn about the latest information from the RES industry.
Another important event at the fair was the 2nd Congress of the Polish Organiza-tion of Heat Pump Technology Development (PORT PC) which gathered more than 350 people from all over Poland. In accordance with the 2nd PORT PC Congress's motto: Time for active support for heat pumps!, the most important subjects here were the new initiatives of the association, related to the establish-ment of the industry technical standards. One of the important speeches was delivered by Małgorzata Skucha, the President of the NFOŚiGW Management Board, with the mention of the heat pumps funding plan within the framework of the new funding program PROSUMENT, starting 2014. The speech on the future of heating technologies in Europe by Krystyna Dawson from BSRIA, as well as the one on the significance of heat pumps in the smart grid technology develop-ment given by Marek Miara from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Sys-tems ISE, also turned to be very interesting for the audience.
This year PORT PC Management awarded two people: Marek Miara (Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE) for a very strong commitment and contri-bution to the development of heat pumps industry in Poland, and Grzegorz Wiśniewski (Institute for Renewable Energy) for a great contribution to the devel-opment of renewable energy sector in Poland. The award for the most interesting presentation on the best practices for heat pumps use (delivered at the Heat Pump Forum Renexpo 2013) was received by Erwin Szczurek from Daikin Com-pany. On the other hand, the award for the best engineer's thesis on heat pumps was given to Jakub Piechta, a student from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineer-ing at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The award was presented by Marian Rubic, PhD., Eng. - the President of PORT PC Program Science Committee.
The 2nd conference on biofuels during RENEXPO® Poland was also of big interest. The Polish National Chamber of Biofuels, in cooperation with the fair orga-nizer, managed to gather the most prominent personalities from the Polish biofu-els industry.
Altogether, over 1,000 representatives from particular RES sectors, investors, journalists, experts and administrative staff attended the events. This year's edition noted the record number of companies participating in the RENEXPO® Poland Brokerage Event - approximately one hundred. It doubled the last year's result.
What additionally encouraged making business contacts was Professional Net-working Dinner, a ceremonial meeting which concluded the first day of the fair. During the dinner, for the second time in the history of RENEXPO® Poland, RE-NERGY AWARDS were awarded for the distinguished personality of the sector and innovative technology at the fair.
The winner in the first category was Paweł Lachman, the President of the Polish Organization of Heat Pump Technology Development since 2011, one of the best specialists in the heat industry, a person of reliable theoretical and practical knowledge. For years, he has been the enthusiast of new technologies and a promoter of condensing technology as the optimal solution for gas heating. He is a man with a broad look at the small energy and ecological aspects. Author and co-author of multiple new initiatives undertaken and implemented by PORT PC, such as: development of PORT PC guidelines covering the design and production of low heat sources for heat pumps, material on good European practices for the development of heat pumps, exclusive rights to translate German VDI guidelines, and many more. It is a man who knows all about the heat pumps and is responsible, among others, for the quick development of this industry and obtaining support from the government administration. Paweł Lachman is the author of the numerous substantial publications on traditional heating (boiler and boiler houses), central heating systems, and more recently - RES.
Two companies became the winners of RENEXPO® Poland award in the catego-ry of innovative product. The jury appreciated a photovoltaic inverter Sunny Boy Smart Energy produced by SMA Central & Eastern Europe, as well as high-performance brine - water heat pumps by Glen Dimplex.
Glen Dimplex Group, established in 1973, is the world's biggest producer of electric heating appliances and one of the leading specialists in the field of heat pumps. Dimplex has over 30 years of experience in the development of innova-tive and environmentally friendly heat pump systems using ground water, soil and outdoor air as the heat source.
