The 8th IRF Regional Conference on Road Infrastructure for Safe Mobility will be held alongside Intertraffic India 2013.
Sustainable business platform
The launch of Intertraffic India in 2011 was an unprecedented success and 85 exhibitors of which 60% were international firms and the show attracted 3,000 visitors. But with strong growth in India’s infrastructure sector, higher exhibitor and attendee levels are predicted for 2013. The event will be further boosted by its link with the IRF through its Regional Conference, which is being run in parallel. The ongoing demands and potential of the market continue to facilitate an ever growing opportunity for both exhibitors and visitors. The focus is on developing a sustainable business platform to exchange knowledge about the latest developments and total solutions pertaining to the traffic challenges India is facing. Moreover, to ensure best practices are shared to enable the Indian road infrastructure to keep up with the mobility requirements.
Smart and high performance infrastructure “RAI are passionate about playing a global matchmaking role in bringing supply, demand and solutions together and hence contribute to a safer, efficient, and more environmentally friendly traffic infrastructure.” comments Amsterdam RAI Domain Manager Erik Dijkshoorn. “The Intertraffic India 2013 exhibition will be the perfect platform to get up to speed with the best practices that are working in India and elsewhere in the world to provide optimal safety and efficiency through state-of-the-art products and solutions. The aim is to create an opportunity for all stakeholders to experience the technologies for developing smart and high performance infrastructure.”
8th IRF Regional Conference
“The forthcoming Intertraffic and 8th IRF Regional Conference is expected to be the largest event of this year in this part of the world.” says Kiran Kumar Kapila, Chairman of the IRF Geneva Programme Centre. “At the Conference 'State-of-the-Art Practices' will be displayed for advance parking solutions, newer materials and technologies, toll management equipments, smart card technology, traffic signs and lights, various barrier systems, public lighting, road construction maintenance, rail technology, tunnel technology, street furniture, reflective material and many others as projected on our website. I strongly recommend that all those connected with infrastructure development, even remotely, should avail this unique opportunity to participate in the Conference and visit Intertraffic India.”
Major investments and economic growth
The Indian economy has been one of the fastest growing economies with a growth rate of around 6%. The infrastructure sector continues to enjoy the favour of the government since the liberalization of the economy two decades back, and 12th Plan has proposed an investment of US$ one trillion equivalent*, and road development is recognized as an essential component to sustain India’s economic growth trajectory. This consequently promises huge road transport and traffic demand scenarios. The combination with the IRF Regional Conference and the involvement of local, regional and national road authorities and other stakeholders makes Intertraffic India 2013 a unique opportunity for all.
Advanced parking solutions needed
The growth of economy has a direct impact on vehicle ownership and as a result is placing tremendous pressure on urban parking. Only innovative parking technology and design options can prevent large cities from becoming inadequate surface parking lots. The costly urban space makes it impossible to provide sufficient space for parking so advanced technology will have to be adopted, like computerized and automated parking lots and other innovative specific parking solutions for transport terminals, such as airports and railway stations. Similar solutions are also needed for shopping malls/markets, multiplexes, multi-storied housing and office complexes, educational institutes, bus terminals, etc.
