“School Leadership: A Compelling Priority for 21st Century schools” is the theme of the 2-day conference
All the major Educationists, Principals, Vice-Principals, School Managements, School and State-level Administrators from across the country along with Government and Policy makers will be congregating at India’s first, ‘National Conference of School Principals 2012’ -a two day conference being held at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on November 8th & 9th, 2012.
Organized by TeacherSity in collaboration with Educomp Foundation, ‘National Conference of School Principals 2012’ is India’s first ever conference for School Principals at a national level which will explore critical issues confronting Schools and School Principals at a practice and policy level and will seek ways to address and deal with them.
Hon’ble Minister for Communications & IT, Mr. Kapil Sibal has consented to be the chief guest and will deliver the key note address. Around 500 delegates are expected to be part of the two day conference. The event is supported by Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), SelaQui Education and HCL.
According to Mr. Om Pathak, Chairman, TeacherSITY “The need of the hour is to examine the role of school leaders [Principals] and explore the competencies, skills and attitudes they must possess to lead 21st Century schools by being in sync with the environmental demands for creating harmonious and futuristic citizens. Research and experience suggests that School Leadership alone defines the very being and character of the schools, its academic ambience, teacher commitment and competence, high student attainment and overall success of the school. Principals must thus have the innate ability to envision the road ahead, bring about alignments to lead and manage change”.
Are we investing enough in preparing good teachers to become effective and dynamic principals? Do we offer, at any level, an opportunity or incentive for teachers to upgrade and prepare themselves for school leadership roles?
These questions draw urgent attention. It is in this context that TeacherSITY and Educomp Foundation are convening a two day National Conference of School Principals. The conference is a platform to share systematically formulated thoughts emerging from the personal practices of school leaders. It also provides school leaders an opportunity to reflect and realize their intellectual ability. It will help in strategizing a strong vision for school leadership. The renowned industry professionals from across the country would share their knowledge and modern trends that enable the achievement of the core theme objective.
TeacherSITY is an empowerment movement for K 12 teachers all over the country and is poised to help the teacher community at all levels on their professional development path.
