Cogeneration Association of India (Cogen India), an organization formed in the year 2001, to promote cogeneration/ captive power plants in all applicable sectors in India has been continuously working in this direction over the last eight years.
It has been continuously lobbying for promotion and development of high-efficiency cogeneration power plants utilizing biomass/ industrial wastes and other alternative fuels and providing services to several industries and other stakeholders to promote and establish such projects.
In addition to this Cogen India has also undertaken activities such as workshops, training programs, international conferences and exhibitions, study tours, etc to bring out awareness about cogeneration opportunities
in different sectors of industry. The information about these events is conveyed to the members and participant as soon as the dates and venue are finalized.
Further, in continuation with the above efforts, in January 2006, Cogen India launched a quarterly newsletter "Industrial Cogeneration India" (ICIN). This Newsletter is supported by the Ministry for New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India, and other private sector organizations. This newsletter, the first of its kind in India, disseminates information on cogeneration and decentralized energy generation every quarter, on issues relating to government policies, financing, technology, operation and maintenance, training and other capacity building initiatives, success stories, environmental issues, the Clean Development Mechanism, etc and provides a unique forum for all stakeholders to interact and present their views/queries.
The newsletter
reaches out to more than 4,000 (by post, email, on our website, distribution at national / state level programs, etc) stakeholders/ equipment suppliers and various industrial sectors.
